EXTRACTIONS
Our goal is always to keep your teeth healthy, but occasionally there is a need to extract teeth. We are committed to extractions that preserve surrounding gum tissue and give you the best experience possible.
ORAL SEDATIONS
Dental anxiety is a very real and sadly very common experience. One of the most rewarding things we have added to our training is oral conscious sedation. We place crushed pills under your tongue to help you relax and help you feel like you can rest during your appointment. Most people report no memory of the procedure after their appointment even though they are able to respond to our requests throughout their dental treatment.
NITROUS OXIDE
For children, Nitrous Oxide or “Laughing Gas” is used to eliminate the need for any numbing while doing fillings on baby teeth. That means no needles on most fillings for children and that makes us happy! Nitrous Oxide is used for adults who experience mild dental anxiety or those who need the capability to drive themselves home from their dental appointment.
NIGHT GUARDS
Grinding and clenching habits are very common among adults. They can create all sorts of problems from TMJ pain, muscular pain, flattening of teeth, and the development of fractures on teeth. Nightguards are designed to decrease the amount of stress placed on your teeth during grinding and clenching, thus preventing the need for dental restorations such as crowns in the future. They can also be used to decrease pain in the surrounding muscles and in the TMJ.
CUSTOM SPORTS GUARDS
Sports guards are helpful in preventing injury to teeth, especially for those participating in contact sports.
SNORE GUARDS
Snore guards are helpful in preventing the frequency of snoring, making patients and their spouses happy. Snore Guards look like two clear retainers held together with flexible bands. The device prevents the lower jaw and tongue from falling backward while a patient sleeps on the back. This stops vibration in the soft palate or “snoring”.
TMD/TMJ THERAPY
The TMJ or Temporomandibular Joint is a complex joint. Pain in the joint and associated muscles can cause toothache-like pain, tension headaches, ear pain, muscle spasms in the jaw area, locked jaw, and greatly decrease the quality of life. If you notice any of these symptoms, let us know so Dr. Jordan can create an effective treatment just for you.
